At Stanley Steemer, we use a process called hot water extraction to clean your home. This is often referred to as steam cleaning because of the steam you see as we clean, but we don't actually use steam to clean.

Upholstery cleaning generally refers to the cleaning of fabric furniture, while steam cleaning can refer to the cleaning of many different surfaces such as curtains as well. Upholstery cleaning typically uses a detergent or solvent to clean the surface, while steam cleaning uses heat and water to clean the surface.

Our steam cleaning equipment propels the water into the fabric or fiber being cleaned. This agitates out the dirt. Simultaneously, the same tool sucks up the water from the cleaned item, along with the dirt. With superior deep cleaning capacity, steam cleaning can rid your home of dirt completely.

The most common chelating agents used in carpet cleaning detergents are sodium citrate, EDTA (ethylene diamine tetraactic acid), NTA (Nitrilotriacetic acid) and polyphosphtes.
